bunny lake is missing (1965)

I have just seen 'bunny lake is missing' and it is the old school style of detective film where nothing is logical and everything really comes down to psychosexual mind games and emotionally damaged killers
The film stars Carol Lynley as Anne lake who is a single mother and has come to the UK from the US to live with her brother. Bunny who daughter disappears from school and among the suspects are Ann's landlord, aging writer and broadcaster Horatio Wilson (Noel Coward) who is a whip-loving sado-masochist (see photo below where he poses with what he believes to be the marquis de sade's whip and skull).

Retired teacher Ada Ford who lives on the school's top floor and collects recordings of children's nightmares.
and then there is the relationship between brother and sister

and then there is this creepy detour into the doll hospital which actually used to be a house owned by Daphne du Maurier
