downcast eyes

What is it that makes me love the opportunities when I can be a voyeur. The internet is so wonderful for that you can see inside peoples houses (theselby), see the desks where they works at and, best of all, look at their bookshelves.

Nigella Lawson's library

Francis Bacon's studio

I half remember a chapter in Malcome Gladwells 'Blink' where he put across the idea that you don't need to have known someone a long time to really 'know' them. He points out studies done in students dorm rooms (with the owner absent) where total stranger's come to the same conclusions about people as their closest friends. Something to think about it isn't it and the book is amazing!

 (both via theselby)

Anyway here is the bookshelf site I was leading up to called lookshelves. I find the site curious and maybe, can I say, a little depressing. But then again I am the kind of person that pauses films to read the book titles in the background so judge away.
